'Tickets to Jogi's kin symbolic of Cong dynastic rule'

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Marwahi Assembly segment Sameera Paikra has said that offering of tickets to family members of former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi to contest Assembly polls is a burning example of the Congress party’s dynastic rule.

Notably, former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi’s son Amit had been fielded as the Assembly poll candidate for the Marwahi seat by the Congress High Command against BJP candidate Sameera Paikra who is contesting Assembly polls for the first time in Chhattisgarh. While, the Congress party operates as a ‘family forum’ for many decades rather than a political party, she said in a statement issued here on Wednesday.

Paikra said that the tickets offered to the Jogi family by the Congress High Command has only strengthened this assumption. like traders while offering a sale offer one item free with another, the Congress High Command had offered one Jogi free with another. This is neither going well with Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress president Charandas Mahant nor the people of the State, Paikra said.

She said that there is an environment of fear and restlessness with the candidature of Amit Jogi as people have not forgotten the crimes which were committed after being motivated by political conspiracy during the Congress rule in Chhattisgarh. The dictatorial style of Congress rule in Chhattisgarh had students, traders and political opposition as victims when people holding peaceful agitations were pushed into jail, Paikra said.

By giving priority to the Jogi family in the polls by the Congress High Command, a wrong message had gone to the people of Chhattisgarh, she said.
