Ticket to CM's son opposed

The Yadav community in Rajnandgaon constituency has criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) proposed move to give ticket to Chief Minister Raman Singh’s son Abhishek Singh to contest the upcoming lok Sabha elections.

As per reports, Abhishek Singh is the front-runner for the seat as BJP nominee. In the 2009 polls, the BJP candidate, Madhusudan Yadav,   who is a die-hard supporter of Raman Singh, won the seat comfortably. “The BJP has always criticised the Congress for promoting dynasty rule, but the fact is that the party itself is now imbibing the same idea by projecting Abhishek Singh as the party candidate from Rajnandgaon,'' said Raju Yadav, Regional General Secretary of Chhattisgarh Yadav Samaj at a press conference here on Thursday.

He said that people of Yadav community, which has sizable population in the State, will oppose the BJP if the party decides to go ahead with Abhishek Singh’s candidature.
