It was an evening to be rejoiced and remembered, for it was the celebration of the sixth Annual Day of N H Goel World School, Abhivyakti 2013. The chief guest, noted Hindi poet Dr Hari Om Panwar along with other distinguished guests and parents graced the occasion. The programme commenced with an invocation to lord Ganesha and Goddess Saraswati. The school choir and the orchestra regaled the audience with their melodious, musical and spirited renditions.

Anurag Gupta, the Head Boy and Samruddhi Zaveri, the Head Girl presented the annual report of the school. The entire event, Akshar Gatha was woven around the central theme of Indian literature this year. The richness of Indian languages was highlighted through the medium of an elaborate exhibition.

Students contributed their bit to the preservation and promotion of Indian languages with the help of a cultural programme including ‘Baal Geet’, a medley of songs in regional languages; dramatisation of Munshi Premchand’s heart-touching story, Eidgaah; a rib-tickling ‘Haasya Kavi Sammelan’ based on the works of popular humorists and satirists Kaka Hathrasi, Shail Chaturvedi and Surendra Sharma; Moorkh Vidwaan, an entertaining skit based on a tale from the Panchtantra and Bhashaon Ki Shok Sabha, a dance-drama which lamented the decline of Indian regional languages. Students were also felicitated for academic and co-curricular excellence. Five founding teachers were also honoured and felicitated for their services to the school.

Speaking on the occasion, the Instructional Mentor, Kalpana Chaudhary spoke about the future plans for the school and exhorted the parents to adopt positive parenting techniques and to spend more quality time with their children. She also spoke about the importance of our mother tongue, Indian languages and the literature associated with them.
