Three police jawans were killed after an anti-landmine vehicle collided head-on with the bike which they were riding on, in the insurgency-hit Bijapur district. Chief Minister Raman Singh has expressed profound grief over the death of the constables. The deceased were assistant constables of district police, a police officer said here on Wednesday.
The incident happened around the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday near the Collectorate. The police personnel in anti-landmine vehicle were on patrol duty as Bijapur is among worst insurgency-hit districts of State. A case in this connection has been registered with Bijapur police station and police has began investigation in the case.
