Three candidates filed nomination for the post of Mayor of Raipur Municipal Corporation and 27 nominations for the post of Corporator on the fourth day of nomination process of urban body elections in Raipur on Thursday.
Officials said that the nomination for the post of Mayor included Chetan Kumar Singh of Chhattisgarh Sanyukt Jatiya Party, Kashinath Prasad of lok Janashakti Party and Ishwari Sahu as Independent candidates. For the post of Corporator Renu Tiwari filed nomination from ward 2, Yashoda Manhare from ward 3, Krishnaram Sahu from ward 4, Arun Sharma from ward 5, Radhey Shyam Vibhar from ward 6, Uttara Rajput from ward 7, Geeta Devi from ward 8,Ashwin Kumar Garg from ward 15, Pratibha Namdev from ward 19, Amit Yadu from ward 20, Nandkumar Jangel from ward 25, Ushabai Sahu from ward 26 and Prasanna Kumar Pandiya from ward 34.
Similarly Hemant Kumar Sahu from ward 37, Rajendra Soni from ward 39, Anusuiya Rai from ward 42, laxmi Devangan from ward 51, Dayaram Medhe from ward 55, Anil Devangan and Mohanlal Nishad from ward 56, Prashant Nayak and Vijay Soni from ward 60, lekhraj Sonkar from ward 63, Pramod Deewan, Maya Deewan, Kailash Kumar Shrivas and Anand Devangan from ward 65. The officials said that as many as 113 people purchased nomination form for the post of Corporator while six candidates purchased forms for the post of Mayor.
