A joint team of district police and the STF during a search operation at North Jaigoor village about 14 kms from district headquarters on Tuesday arrested members of a theatre group accused of inciting people against the Government.
The team had left for the search operation a day earlier to look for the insurgents at Jaigoor village under jurisdiction of Jangla police station in the district, a press release issued from SP, Bijapur’s office stated here on Tuesday. At Jaigoor village , the team found members of one Chetna Natya Mandali inciting people of the village against the government through their songs and dance. On interrogation, Kunjami Jummo , Manju, Telam Sannu, Telam Mangi were arrested.
Items such as ‘Dhapli’ (drum), Naxal pamphlets and banner among other things were found in possession of the accused. The accused would now be produced in the Bijapur District court.
