Tenders floated after public dedication of work: BJP

Without completing the whole process of tender, the public dedication ceremony of completed works of Devendra Nagar square, Vivekananda Sarovar (Budhatalab) and City Kotwali was done, the Chhattisgarh BJP said on Friday.

The tender has been floated now, and the whole thing smells of corruption, former PWD Minister and BJP spokesperson Rajesh Munat said.

Releasing the tender documents to the media, Munat wanted to know under which head and to which agency around Rs 51 lakh will be released when work has been completed without any tender.

Citing the example of Devendra Nagar Square (Global Chowk), Munat said earlier it was named ‘Amar Gurubakshani’ in memory of a leading social worker.

The tender was floated on December 1 for Island construction, landscaping and gardening work. The online bids have been invited up to December 23, 2020 till 17.30 hours. It will be opened on December 26 and the cost of work is Rs 51 lakh.

He asked after completion of the work and inauguration, how the Raipur Municipal Corporation can release the tender for the same work.

Similarly, for the Budhatalab related works and City Kotwali the tenders have been floated after completion of work.

The 8-inch concrete road of Maulshri Vihar is being removed for construction of a new road and this too looks akin to corruption, he said. He added that the BJP will fight such corruption.
