Chhattisgarh Police on Friday made it mandatory for landlords in Raipur district to submit by October 15 details regarding their tenants.
Raipur Superintendent of Police Prashant Agrawal told The Pioneer that many absconding criminals and gangsters of other districts and states live in Raipur city and district by concealing their criminal records.
People with such criminal tendency carry out crime and leave the place, the officer said. At times, landlords fail to provide information regarding such criminals to the police.
The landlords can submit the details of their tenants for free to the concerned police station or via online, he added.
