After serving notices on the encroachers, the anti-encroachment team led by Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Rekha Singh Banshwaar, Tehsildar Avanti Gupta and Nagar Panchayat Chief Municipal officer (CMO) Basant Bunkar on Saturday demolished structures on encroached land here with the help of police squad , tractor and JCB machine.
Tension prevailed in the Bus stand area of the town when the anti-encroachment team started removing about 100 people from the encroached areas. Nagar Panchayat CMO Basant Bunker calmed the people and informed them that Nagar Panchayat had issued the list of encroachers and a notice was published a week back.
He said that despite the notice, when the encroachers did not leave the area, and 3the Department was compelled to take steps against them.
