Telibandha will be a model project in the country, says senior bureaucrat

A senior bureaucrat of the government of India after inspecting various aspects of Telibandha pond revival project on Saturday said it would be a model in the country.

Joint secretary, Ministry of Shipping Rabindra Kumar Agrawal is on a visit to Chhattisgarh to inspect works undertaken under ‘Jal Shakti’ Abhiyan, sponsored by the central government.

Describing Telibandha project as innovative, Agrawal said it is a model in the country as it includes aspects of water purification, conservation and enhancing groundwater.

“It is appreciable that Smart City and Raipur Municipal Corporation is the first civic body, which has earmarked 45 ponds under the project through groundbreaking work plan for water conservation and purification,” he said.

Raipur Smart City Limited manager Pramod Bhaskar briefed him on the whole purification process of drain water and other aspects of the project.

A similar sewerage treatment plant is coming up in Budhatalab, while the project is being implemented in 48 ponds of Raipur in a bid to revive them.

“Saw this well thought and executed project. Such projects are the need of the hour in our urban areas. I am sure people of this city would be thankful to concerned authorities for providing space where they can spend time during their leisure time. Congratulations to each member of the team who was a part of this project,”  Agrawal commented in visitor’s book.
