A Kendriya Vidyalaya teacher in Kumharpara has been suspended for allegedly beating students of Class VII when they did not get any snacks for him. The computer teacher has been accused of thrashing the students inside a locked classroom.
According to the students, computer teacher Raju Majumdar had asked the students for some ‘dhokla’ but when the students told him that there was no more left, Majumdar got angry and began hitting the students. In the meanwhile, someone locked the door from outside.
Out of total strength of 37, 34 students of Class 7C were caned by Majumdar. Three students have suffered injuries and received treatment in the school.
Majumdar has been suspended by the school administration after parents protested in front of the school.
Principal of the school G Minj said that she has been informed about the incident where children of Class 7 were locked and beaten up by Majumdar. We have suspended him and apologised to the parents, Minj said.
