A smart Radio Taxi service named ‘G Cab’ with a fleet of Tata Nano cars will soon be launched in Raipur city and adjacent districts to offer 24X7 taxi service. Travel operator ‘Gurukripa Travels’ is all set to launch the service next month.
The smart cab will have many features to facilitate the passengers while especially having features for safety of women, Director of the Taxi Service Gurpreet Singh informed here in a Press conference on Tuesday. While briefing media persons, Singh said that initially as many as 40 Tata Nano Cars will be deployed to run as ‘G Cab’. The company aims to expand the service by running at least 200 cars during the next one year.
“We have obtained all requisite permissions from the Regional Transport Officer and have also received a certificate from Tata Company to run Nano Car as a cab” he informed. The car will have seating capacity of 3+1. Singh added that for the safety point of view, the cab has been equipped with a device named ‘Nirbhaya Tracking System’. In this system, information of the cab’s location will be sent on an alternative mobile number, to be provided by the passenger at every five minute.
Kin of the passengers would also be able to learn about the cab’s location live with their smart phone. This apart, a CCTV camera will be installed inside the cab. Singh added that the company is looking for professional drivers to work with them on profit sharing basis. The company is planning to give a grand launch to the taxi service.
