I have floated regional outfit 'Janata Congress Chhattisgarh' (JCC) (J) to safeguard the local interests so that the decisions for the people of the State could be taken here itself and not in the national capital, former State Chief Minister and JCC (J) Supremo Ajit Jogi said on Tuesday.
“Alliance with any of the national political parties including that of Congress with JCC (J) would hamper with the interests of the people of the State”, he said.
Addressing a press conference at his residence ‘Sagaun Bungalow’ here, Jogi ruled out the possibility of an alliance with the Congress party and said the objective for which the regional party was formed would not be fulfilled if it tied up with any national political party.
Jogi however said that his talks were on with a regional political party such as Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for a poll alliance.
Answering to a query about his wife who had filed application to fight the Assembly polls from Kota on a Congress party ticket, Jogi said “She is free to take her own decision.”
To a query how he would convince his supporters when he was unable to convince his wife Renu Jogi for being in JCC (J), the former Chief Minister said there are so many people surrounding him and he was unable to convince all of them. “There is every possibility that some may disagree with me and my ideology”, he said.
Regarding charges of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Bhupesh Baghel and Chhattisgarh In-charge of All India Congress Committee (AICC), P.l. Punia that there was a reign of terror among business fraternity and industrial houses during his tenure as a Chief Minister, Jogi refuted the charges saying “With my initiatives hundreds of rice mills were reopened in state and power tariff for industrial houses were at its lowest during my tenure”, he said.
