Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Brijmohan Agrawal has said that stern action will be taken against the field officers and employees who are found absent from their headquarters town without prior information.
He directed the senior officers to issue orders to this effect immediately. Agrawal said that the Agriculture Department and its related Animal Husbandry, Fish Rearing and Horticulture are related to the rural areas and farmers. The officers should be in touch with the farmers at regular intervals.
The Kharif season 2015 is likely to begin in a month’s time. The field officers and employees should be available to provide guidance to the farmers, the Minister said. He added that Rural Agriculture Development Officers, Fisheries’ Inspectors and Assistant Veterinary Regional Officers should always be present and guide the farmers.
