Managing Director of Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company limited (CSPDCl) Subodh Singh issued directives to the competent officers to initiate action against officers and employees responsible for delaying the issues related to meter reading, new connection and complaints.
The contractors guilty of irregularities in development works should be black listed and recovery should be done from them by attaching their properties. In a state-level meeting held recently to review the electricity development works, Singh emphasised on issuing new connections without delay.
He said that the meter readers should be encouraged to check power pilferage. The name of the meter reader should not be disclosed and he should be awarded by giving 10 per cent of the amount involved in theft.
Singh said that by delaying payment of bills, the consumers are at a loss as they are charged at the rate of 18 per cent interest against the delay in payment. He reviewed the progress of RGGVY scheme and directed the officers to give priority to the new connections. He reviewed the SMS service for increase in load, interruption in power supply etc.
For improvement in consumer service, Singh directed the field officers to register the mobile number of maximum consumers by March 2015. The complaints related to power outage and faults will be received and the consumers can get the status of action taken against the complaints through SMS.
He also directed the officers for disposal of complaints received through centralized call center number 1912. In case of false feedback and delay in disposal of complaint, action will be taken against the concerned officer. Singh asked the officers to deal strictly with erring contractors and start recovery from the contractor who have been found guilty of irregularities in electricity development works.
GS Mukherjee, HR Narvare, PK Agrawal, Kailash Naranvare, Ml Mishra, S Kumar, AK Agrawal, Prahlad Singh, DG Golvalkar, SK Thakur and a number of field officers from Raipur, Bilaspur, Ambikapur, Jagdalpur, Rajnandgaon and Durg were present in the meeting.
