Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday said Swami Vivekananda has always inspired the youth to maintain good health and build good character throughout life by setting goals to move ahead. Swami is a role model for youth.
He was addressing as chief guest at the ‘Vivekananda National Youth Conference’ held at Vivekananda Vidyapeeth, Kota here.
Inviting suggestions from all on the nature of the memorial to be established in Raipur for Swami Vivekananda, the Chief Minister said there are three memorials in America and 12 in India. The memorial to be built in Raipur will be the 16th memorial of Swami Vivekananda. So it should have unique features from others.
“Swami Vivekananda had said that we have to accept the science of the West and the spirituality of India for the progress of humanity,” he said.
He added, “Nowadays religious gurus are silent instead of politicians talking more on religion. We are proud to be a Hindu, but do not give the right to insult any other religion. Religion can never talk about hatred. There are two works of a sage or a saint, welfare of the world and self-promotion. If you have hatred in your mind then you are not a sage.”
Swami Nikhileshwaranand, President of Shri Ramakrishna Ashram, Rajkot said Swami Vivekananda told the youth to love India and get up, wake up and do not stop till the goal is achieved. Swami Vivekananda was a visionary of the era.
