Chhattisgarh Swabhiman Manch will oppose appointment of outsiders on the workers posts in Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) and has decided to protest against the competitive exams scheduled to be held at Bilaspur on July 7 and July 14.
Notably, the Manch in its meeting of Central Office bearers, lok Sabha–Vidhan Sabha constituency in-charges and district presidents discussed the issue of appointment in BSP on all India basis despite the assurance of Union Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma that 80 percent local youths would be appointed on lower cadre workers post in BSP.
They expressed anger over the attitude of the plant Management which failed to cancel the competitive exam and start appointment of local youths on the 934 vacant posts of workers in pursuance of Verma’s directive.
Now, the Manch has decided to stop the youths coming from outside state for attending the competitive exams at Bilaspur railway station for which about 5 thousand workers of the Manch will reach Bilaspur on July 6 with a view to not let the outsider youth appear in the exam.
The Manch, in its release, criticised both Congress which has one member in lok sabha and 2 members in Rajya Sabha and BJP which has 10 members in lok Sabha and 4 members in Rajya Sabha, Charandas Mahant is Union Minister and Vora is AICC Treasurer but none of them opposed the appointment in BSP on all India basis overlooking the interests of local youth.
