leader of Congress legislature Party (ClP) in Chhattisgarh, TS Singhdeo has demanded opening of the super-specialty hospital proposed to be constructed through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund by the State Government in northern Chhattisgarh.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister Raman Singh,  Singhdeo said that he has learnt that ` 327 crore have already been sanctioned for constructing the hospital.

“The tribal dominated and forested part of north Chhattisgarh had been devoid of good health services. This coal rich region also generates highest revenue for the State government; however, this region lacks well equipped hospital,” Singhdeo said.

He pointed out that Raipur has hospital like AIIMS run by the Central Government and Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial hospital run by the State government. likewise, Durg district also has big hospitals like Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial hospital and Chandulal Chandrakar hospital. In the same way, Bilaspur already has Apollo Hospital. Recently, NMDC had announced opening of a well equipped hospital in Bastar region, he said.

So, the demand for opening a well-equipped hospital in the northern part of the State should be fulfilled and the proposed multi-specialty hospital should be constructed in Surguja district, he said.
