Chhattisgarh Water Resource Department (WRD) Minister Ravindra Choubey on Thursday asked officials to supply water to farmers for irrigation.
He was addressing a departmental meeting here.
The officials told Choubey that there is 79 percent water in 12 major and 34 medium reservoirs, an official statement said.
Presently, the water is being supplied to farmers from the Mahanadi Reservoir Project (Gangrel), the Minimata (Hasdeo) Bango Project, the Tandula Reservoir, the Kharang Reservoir, the Sikasar Reservoir, Maniyari, Kodar, Ghongha, Kosarteda (Bastar), Kharkhara, Gondli, Shyam Ghunghutta, Chirpani Reservoir and other medium and small reservoirs, the statement said.
Water can also be given for irrigation from other reservoirs, it added.
