The Sun is the energy soul for the entire universe as we receive both heat and light from it, and one cannot imagine life without the Sun, said Dr Indubhavanand Maharaj.
He was addressing the ‘Surya Upasana’ being organized on the occasion of ‘Paush’ month on the third Sunday at the ashram of Jagatguru Shankaracharya and Dwarka Sharda Peetadhishwar Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati in Raipur.
He said it is the Sun which converts water in the oceans into vapour leading to rains and also melts ice on the mountains, creating rivers. Even storms and winds occur due to heat generated from the Sun.
One cannot imagine life on earth minus the Sun, said Dr Indubhavanand.
Therefore, the Sun acts as the eternal soul for life and the universe. It provides the light energy for the Moon and other planets in the solar system. The sun releases calcium and gases useful for humans. So, worshipping the Sun is the moral responsibility of every living being, he said.
He added that so in the auspicious month of Paush, one should offer water to the ‘Sun’ god.
