Due to a heat wave sweeping Chhattisgarh, all government and private schools will start their summer vacation from April 24. The schools will reopen on June 15.
The School Education Department announced this on Wednesday, amending the earlier order under which the current academic session was extended from March 31 to April 30.
An additional academic session was to be taken from May 1 to 15. It was not mandatory for the students of government schools from Class 1 to 8 to attend classes.
The parents were given the option to send their children to the school or keep them at home.
With temperature hovering around 44 degrees Celsius across the state, the Department announced the latest dates.
Relaxation has been given to students who want to arrive voluntarily to school for their assessment which has to be completed by April 25.
