Chief Minister Raman Singh on Sunday unveiled a series of development projects worth rupees millions in State’s worst Naxal-hit Sukma district on the second day of his month-long first phase Vikas Yatra and sought people’s blessings for BJP’s victory in assembly polls slated later this year.
“I came Sukma to seek blessings for 2018 assembly polls, I did my best for the development of the state, in next four months there will be power supply round the clock in each household even in interiors and forested Sukma,’’ Raman told people at a public rally at Gadiras.
Seeking support for the fourth successive victory in coming up polls for the assembly polls, Singh stated, “development of Bastar is on top of my priority, the development march should go on in the state without a pause but it is must that you people should retain BJP Government with more seats than ever,’’.
Singh who is Chief Minister since Dec 2013, informed large local tribal people in Congress bastion Sukma, that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked him to take every possible effort to build quality roads, hospitals and schools and also ensure round the clock water and power supply to each tribal hamlet in Bastar that includes Sukma.
The Vikas Yatra which is split in two phases, will provide a rare opportunity to Raman Singh to present his report card on development before state’s about 2.55 crore people.
The first phase of the “Vikas Yatra” will cover 62 assembly constituencies and culminate on June 11, while the second phase is scheduled to be held from August 16 to September 30. The BJP has set a target of winning at least 65 seats in a 90-member house.
