Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths caught red handed sub engineer of Dhamdha Janpad while taking Rs 24 thousand bribe from a sarpanch on Monday.
According to ACB sources, the action was taken on the complaints of sarpanch of Tarpodi Gram panchayat Shantilal Daheriya. Dahariya in his complaint to the ACB had said that under the Gram Utkarsh Yojana, the state administration had sanctioned Rs 17 lakh, 60 thousand for construction of entry gate at village Tarpodi, and CC Road as well as a Community Hall at Dhaurabhata.
For giving the final report after evaluation of these construction projects the sub engineer concerned, Chandra Kishor Pandey, had demanded Rs 50 thousand in bribe. Out of this amount Rs 26 thousand was already paid to him while with the remaining amount of Rs 24 thousand the accused had asked the sarpanch to come to his Dhamdha office on Monday. On Monday, as per schedule, when the sarpanch gave Rs 24 thousand to the sub engineer in his office, the ACB team present there caught him red handed and arrested him.
