After drubbing in Lok Sabha polls in state, Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) on Sunday realised that top party leaders need to interact with party workers on daily basis.
The PCC’s executive body which held a marathon meeting on Sunday in Raipur, decided that each minister will be assigned task to remain available once in a week at state party headquarters Rajiv Bhawan to listen to party cadres problems and complains and address it on priority basis.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel who also holds post of PCC chief attended the meeting besides PL Punia, Congress national general secretary and party in-charge for Chhattisgarh.
Sources said that party leaders expressed serious disappointment that party won just two out of the 11 Lok Sabha seats in state while party was expecting not less than nine seats.
The executive body came to a conclusion that dissidents played a role of spoiler within party and sabotaged party’s wining chances. The executive body gave a broad hint of identifying such dissidents and also to crack a whip on them for anti-party activities.
In another major decision, the executive body decided to reward dedicated senior party workers with plum posts in boards and corporations ahead of coming up panchayat and urban bodies polls.
Sources said that Chief Minister Baghel would soon add one more minister to his cabinet.
