Students of Government School, Kathadih and residents of this village on the outskirts of the state capital on Tuesday staged a protest at District Collectorate against liquor outlet situated in the main road, close to the school.

Shouting slogans the students and villagers demanded of the district collector to shut down the liquor outlet. Citing inconvenience caused to them, they pointed out that they have to take the road that passes in front of the liquor shop.

Notable, recently after protest by Santoshi Nagar government higher secondary school students, the liquor shop located near the school had been shifted from Santoshi Nagar to Kathadih.

Taking strong exception to the decision of shifting it to Kathadih, the students and villagers pointed out that as the shop is situated at the main road, every student has to pass through it and the girl students have to face the problem of eve teasing from the drunkards.

The road in front of the shop is always crowded and the passerby has to face the inconvenience due to it, they said.
