Students created ruckus at Daga Girls’ College in Raipur over the alleged delay in getting and submitting (private) examination forms on Saturday. The students complained that every day they were standing in a line that was quite long and they were facing difficulty in either getting or depositing the examination forms.

The last date for depositing the forms is on December 23 (Monday) and if they don’t deposit it before or on the scheduled date they would have to pay a late fee of Rs 100. The college started issuing private examination forms from December 16. The students have also been told to deposit the forms from the same date. The college has appointed only 2-3 officials to issue and receive them.

As a result every day the college has been witnessing an unusual crowd. There was heavy rush of applicant on Saturday that led to an unpleasant situation. Angry over the rush, students created ruckus at college. The students said after Sunday the winter vacation will start which will continue up to December 27. If they do not submit their forms on time, they will have to pay a late fee of even Rs 1,000. The students have been demanding that the authorities should extend the last date for deposit of the forms.

Deputy Principal of the college professor DK Dubey said students want to appear in the private examinations in the college because it is located in the heart of the city. He said two days ago, the number of forms sold by the college was about 1,500 and meanwhile it must have sold another 500 forms. The ruckus was created after some students attempted to break the line and try to deposit their forms.
