During the past 11 years, there had been lots of development in the field of higher education. At the birth of Chhattisgarh state, only 5 per cent of the youth used to reach colleges but now 20 percent of youth in Chhattisgarh reach colleges, he said, stressing over the need for working more in the higher education sector.
He was of view that one will have to strengthen youth who will ultimately elevate India on a global level. ‘Universities build the character and personality of a student and students are the future of nation, so in coming days, student-centric policies will be made’, he expressed. He called upon students to adopt positive thinking and work for the development of University, State and Country.
Earlier, Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the University Dr Gauridutt Sharma informed that students union elections have been conducted only in those colleges which are offering at least two year courses. About 158 affiliated colleges to GGU did not fulfill the criteria and hence they were dropped. The elected student union has 14 members which represent colleges from all districts. The VC administered oath to the elected student representatives and Minister Agrawal distributed certificates to them.
