The Chhattisgarh Vikas Yatra would embark from district headquarters Dantewada in south Bastar on 6 May. Former deputy prime minister and veteran BJP leader lal Krishna Advani will flag off the Yatra in presence of CM Dr Raman Singh and other senior party leaders.

It is being expected that some odd 20,000 people would join the Yatra. PHE Minister Kedar Kashyap claimed that nothing would stop Yatra despite the fact that Maoists have announced boycotting of Yatra in the region. He expressed the views while talking with reporters in a brief conversation here in rest house on Saturday.

Kashyap said that CM  and senior leader lal Krishan Advani will be reaching Dantewada on May 6 to start the Vikas Yatra. He said – all the preparations are in place at Dantewada and final touch is being given to them to make the Vikas Yatra a grand success which is beginning from the pious land of Goddess Danteshwari. During Vikas Yatra paddy bonus, cycle and sewing machine will be distributed under various developmental schemes. Security arrangements are also being done by the respective security agencies, he addded.
