The Congress Tuesday criticised the Vikas Yatra charging that by distributing bonanza worth crores to people on the cost of state exchequer, the government was trying to divert the attention of people from the loot of Jal, Jangle and Jameen (Water, forest and land) plundered by the BJP government during the last 9 and half years of its rule.
Questioning the claims of the state government made during the ongoing Vikas Yatra, Congress state media cell in-charge Shailesh Nitin Trivedi in a party release said that during its 10-year tenure the BJP government swallowed the fertile lands of 10 percent farmers of Chhattisgarh terning them in to labourers from farmers whereas the number of families living below poverty line has reached to 50 lakh. If this is the development the BJP government claims to have ushered in, then people of Chhattisgarh need not this type of development,
Trivedi added. Congress leaders Pradeep Choubey, TS Singhdeo, Baijnath Chandrakar, Pushpa Devi Singh, Kawasi lakhma, and others charged that on the expense of public money and use of government machinery, the BJP government was trying fool the public of Chhattisgarh.
