The State Government in a bid to ensure proper implementation of the Government schemes in the State has decided to put a check on officials’ frequent visits outside the district. The Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand has issued an order to this effect here on Saturday and directed the officials to comply with it.
Similarly, the Collectors have also been divested of their power to grant leave to employees working under them. Accordingly, any employee, who aspires to get leave for more than two days, he/she will have to approach the Divisional Commissioner who will sanction the leave, instead of Collector.
These measures, the CS said was necessary to put in place for fast track development in the State. According to the order, the CS has restricted the meetings of district collector and other senior officials of all the departments outside the district to one. Dhand pointed out in the order that because of the frequent visits of officials outside the district, the development work in the districts were adversely affected.
The CS also directed the officials to use the facility of video conferencing to discuss any issue being in their respective localities. Copy of the order has been circulated among all the senior officials in the Mantralaya, divisional commissioners and district collectors among other department heads.
