However it was unfortunate that electricity was being sold on increased rate and more embarrassing it the fact that power was being purchased from private companies on higher price, Baghel charged.

The CGPCC chief claimed that farmers in rural areas of State were facing power cuts till late night. “The Government should ensure that power is available for them (farmers) in dark hours at so rural people could cook their foods and children could study,” Baghel said.

Over the election of Gaurishankar Agrawal unanimously as the Speaker of the State Assembly, Baghel said Agrawal as Speaker of House will keep the balance like a tarazu and the Opposition would extend full support to him. “We have our faith in Speaker and we hope that Speaker will also give us his valuable support,” Baghel told reporters.  To the question of role of Opposition, the CGPCC Chief said that the role of Opposition is to corner the ruling Government. Along with constructive Opposition, we will also play role of an attacking Opposition, he maintained.
