State Cong leaders can't perform Road Show, so calling AICC Chief: Raman

Published on:

Chief Minister Raman Singh on Monday said nobody in the Congress party in Chhattisgarh was capable to perform a Road Show in Raipur and that is why the party leaders are bringing in their National President Rahul Gandhi in the city to do so.

Addressing a press conference here, Singh said the all the State Congress party leaders including Chhattisgarh In-charge of All India Congress Committee (AICC) P.l. Punia and Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) Chief Bhupesh Baghel were ‘unacceptable’ to people of the State. Keeping in view the same they have now invited the AICC Chief to do a Road Show in the state capital, he said.

Commenting on criticism of Vikas Yatra, Singh said it shows the ‘frustration’ of Congress party as their leaders have no topic to criticise the government any more. Opposition by  them was limited only to social media and press conferences and they are not coming out of it, he added.

The situation in Congress party is such that there was a dearth of acceptable leaders from the party in the State, Singh said.

Criticising the Congress party for allegedly opposing development, Singh said the people of the state have discarded them for the past 15 years.

Asserting that there was an all-round development of the Bastar region in less than 15 years of BJP rule, Singh said after laying road network, starting air connectivity now internet connectivity would be started. Soon works worth Rs 2500 crore would be started under Bharat Net Project in the region, he said.

More than 50 lakh smart phones would be distributed under the scheme to ascertain mobile connectivity, Singh said.

Replying to a query about invitation of Deputy leader of Opposition in the State Assembly, Kawasi lakhma to tour the allegedly backward regions like Tadmetla and Jagargunda, the Chief Minister said his Vikas Yatra was not over. He will again come to Bastar and will fulfill the wishes of the Congress leader.
