A Standing Committee formed by the Chhattisgarh Government and chaired by former Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary Nirmala Buch has recommended bail for prisoners in a total of 225 cases in Chhattisgarh, officials informed.
Nirmala Buch chaired the ninth meeting of the Committee on Thursday at the Conference hall of new Circuit House in the city.The meeting in the presence of Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand, Director General of Police (DGP) AN Upadhyay, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, NK Aswal and Director General (DG) (Jail) Giridhari Nayak along with other senior officials reviewed cases related to release and bail of prisoners.
It was informed that the first meeting of Standing Committee was held in Raipur on May 3, 2012 and subsequently on May 4, 2012; May 10, 2012; May 21, 2012; January 5, 2013; May 6, 2013; August 24, 2013 and eighth meeting was held on May 7, 2014.
