Spencer’s Retail limited, a well-known food multi-format retailer on Friday forayed into Raipur with a hypermarket spread over 28,000 sq ft at Ambuja Mall off Vidhan Sabha road in the city.
This new store offers a wide range and assortment of merchandise across categories of food and grocery, fresh fruits and vegetables, electrical and kitchen appliances, stationery, home and personal care besides other products. The store also offers Spencer’s Patisserie — a live Bakery which is the first of its kind in the city — offering a variety of freshly baked breads, cakes, rusks and cookies etc, the company claimed.
“We are happy and proud to mark our presence in Raipur with our first Hyper store in the region. Spencer’s endeavor is to offer shoppers the best in food and non-food assortment at trusted prices, deliver a superior and enjoyable shopping experience thereby creating customer delight. This is in line with its brand promise of making fine living affordable,” Mohit Kampani, president & CEO Spencer’s Retail said while addressing a news conference here.
He said the store had a very carefully selected assortment to cater to the regional needs of the shopper. A wide range of imported food, organic food, health food and ethnic food sourced from various parts of country have been brought together under one roof at Spencer’s. “We are very aggressively expanding our footprint in the country and are in the process of opening 12 hypermarkets by the end of this financial year in chosen geographies. By 2017, we hope to have 100 Hypermarkets from 31 we have currently in the country,” he said.
