Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain on Tuesday called for expediting the disbursal of compensation in all the districts linked to the National Highway construction.
He was chairing a High-Power Committee constituted for land acquisition, forest diversion and electricity/pipe line management under the Central Ministry of Road Transport and the State Roads at Secretariat (Mahanadi Bhawan).
Virtually addressing the officials, Jain said the distribution of compensation in all the districts for construction of National Highways should be completed by the end of February.
Each fortnight, an action plan should be made for distribution of compensation.
In areas where all the processes have been completed, the construction of roads should commence at the earliest.
The process of pending land acquisition, felling of trees, identification of assets and the process of passing awards should also be accelerated by this month, he added.
He said the works of National Highways and roads under Bharat Mala Project should also be expedited.
