A unique project of Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University named ‘7 billion acts of goodness’ will be launched here on Sunday in presence of Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker, Gaurishankar Agrawal and Agriculture Minister, Brijmohan Agrawal at Shanti Sarowar Ashram located in Saddu locality.

“The project is an initiative designed to exponentially increase expressions of benevolence in the world,” said the regional administrator, Kamla Didi, in a Press conference held here on Saturday.

She added that the movement is based on the spiritual truth that goodness is innate and that by cultivating a spiritual awareness of the self, we can tap into this inherent goodness in a way that makes us capable of generating unlimited acts of goodness.

Ramprakash Singhal, who was among lucky escapes from World Trade Centre (WTC) terrorism attack reported on September 11, 2001 in US, will be the key-note speaker.

“Singhal will recall his experience of ‘9/11 Attack’ that how positive thinking, good deeds, power of meditation and focus on saving others’ life helped him at the time of crises. He guided and encouraged other lucky fellows of his office to save their lives by using staircase to get down from 64th floor of WTC just five minutes before of its being collapsed,” Kamla Didi informed.

Under this initiative, the participants will have to pledge for doing at least three acts of goodness throughout a month/year.

The year-long movement to collect the pledge receipts filled by the participants as ‘affidavit’ to perform number of acts of goodness till it touches the figure of 7 billion, almost equivalent to the number of people living across the globe.
