The Congress and the BJP continued their slugfest rather than focusing on the issues of development as the polling dates are drawing near in Chhattisgarh. The state Mahila president of the BJP Shobha Soni slammed national Mahila Congress president Shobha Ojha for calling BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi a “liar,” saying “it was not Modi but Gandhi family.”
While describing Gandhi family a bundle of lies, she said everyone in the Gandhi family - Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka - were lying. According to her, the Gandhi family betrayed the nation. Its over six decades of lies left the country impoverished.
She also questioned Priyanka Gandhi’s motive behind calling on those convicted for assassinating her father the late prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, saying it was for her vote bank interests rather than for the nation’s interests. She also slammed Congress president Sonia Gandhi for destabilising democracy and its august traditions.
Sonia, she said, without mandate remote-controlled the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government and the country did not make any progress. Even she accused the Gandhi family of using the brutal murder of the late Rajiv Gandhi for political gains.
