In-charge Collector Neelesh Kshirsagar has warned the owners of Sonography Centers of strict action if they are found involved in Pre Natal Sex Determination tests.
At a meeting, held in the context of 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Abhiyaan' here, the Collector instructed the officers concerned to get the smart tracking system installed in every Sonography Centre to keep a watch on such activities.
Kshirsagar said that PNDT is a serious offence for which Sonography centres would be liable for strict action. He mentioned that the district administration along with a team from the district hospital would keep an eye on such centres and take action accordingly.
Kshirsagar also spoke about the district-level Task Force Committee constituted under the Abhiyaan for curbing such incidents.
The database of Sonography Centres has already been uploaded in the system and the tracking system will connect the centers with the district hospital. As soon as the Sonography machine starts functioning at the centre, the process will be visible in the district hospital also.
