The construction work of ‘sky walk’ around busiest square of the city, Shastri Chowk is going on at fast pace while construction of two fly over, one from Rajkumar College to Shastri Chowk and second one, from Raipur Railway Station to Old Police Headquarters (PHQ) is also on the anvil.
Apart from construction of Sky Walk, the Public Works Department will also construct two fly over for which the administrative approval is in the pipeline.
Putting an end to rumours that funds were withdrawn for the fly over projects, a senior official of Public Works Department (PWD) informed that soon after the administrative approval from the Government, funds which were under provision in the financial budget of 2015-16, would be released and fly over would also be constructed.
“Till now the PWD department has not withdrawn or spent a single penny and the allegations over it were baseless. The department has also not spent the money on Sky Walk which was reserved for the fly overs,’’ he said.
Though, the construction work of the sky walk is causing problem to the people, the situation would be normal after sometime and the common people would be benefitted hugely. Some social organisations were protesting the sky walk and were demanding to construct fly over instead of it.
Now the official had confirmed that the fly over are also to be constructed and an administrative approval is being sought for it.
