The Chhattisgarh Police on Sunday arrested six persons for operating an IPL betting racket in a public garden.
Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar Yadav told The Pioneer that Sonu Verma (29), Shubham Sharma (24), Ganesh Rao (24), Haresh Khan (24), Jiteshwar Sinha (23) and Manglesh Singh (22), who were arrested, were residents of Raipur.
Police seized six mobile phones, Rs 1.5 lakh in cash and betting records detailing transactions of Rs 10 lakh from them, Yadav said.
They had bet on an IPL match played between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday night.
