Panchayat and rural development minister T S Singhdeo will hold a review meeting of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) through a video-conferencing with Chief Executive Officer of all district panchayats on March 5.
MGNREGA is one of the flagship programmes of the previous UPA government and presently it is facing issue of disbursement of wage payment across the country.
Singhdeo will review the implementation, status of wage payment and upcoming works in future. The CEOs have been directed to be present at the NIC Centre of districts with complete details of the scheme.
Along with it, Singhdeo will also review the ‘Garuva and Ghurva’ promotion works undertaken mainly identification of land for construction of cowshed and the related works.
Panchayat and Rural development minister will also hold discussion with departmental officers on use of Geographical Information System (GIS) for preparing integrated work plan of village Panchayats and expediting the incomplete works done under MGNREGS.
