leader of Opposition in Chhattisgarh Assembly TS Singhdeo has demanded action against the guilty involved in an alleged scam related to agriculture grant distributed to the farmers.
Singhdeo in a letter to Chief Secretary Ajay Singh alleged that in nexus with officials of Agriculture Department and Agriculture Equipment suppliers, scam worth crores had been committed.
He said that prima facie the scam had been proved in the physical verification by the third party in Kanker and Bilaspur.
It has come to fore that 2152 farmers among the 3239 beneficiaries earmarked were not benefited with the scheme in these two districts and even though grant on their names were withdrawn, Singhdeo informed.
The withdrawn grant amount of the farmers were forfeited and as per rule, these farmers will now not be able to get the benefits of government schemes for the next five years. This is a picture of only two districts and if we look it in the context of entire state , the scam could amount to hundreds of crores of rupees, Singhdeo said.
“Being an Administrative Head of the state it is expected from you to take cognizance of the matter and order a detailed enquiry into the scam all over the state, he said.
