Health Minister T.S. Singhdeo proceeded on a tour of Thailand to study its universal health model on Monday.
He was accompanied by Secretary, Health, Niharika Barik Singh and Director, Health, R. Prasanna.
The three-member team from Chhattisgarh would study free healthcare system of Thailand.
They will also have deliberations with persons associated with medical field.
Notably, Thailand had implemented free healthcare system for its citizens and is running the scheme successfully.
Notably, the Congress party manifesto had promised to implement free healthcare services for citizens.
The Health Minister had already started working on drawing up a framework of the scheme and the Thailand tour is a part of the project to launch a Universal Health scheme in the State.
