Chhattisgarh Health Minister T.S. Singh Deo on Tuesday virtually inaugurated a dialysis centre in Korba and said it is another step towards universal health care.
Korba is the sixth district after Durg, Kanker, Bilaspur, Mahasamund and Bijapur where a dialysis centre has been established, a press release said.
“We are slowly expanding health facilities in Chhattisgarh. We had seen earlier people had to wander from place to place and pay huge amounts for dialysis but with these services they need not undergo such an ordeal,” the Minister said.
After Korba, dialysis centres will open in Jashpur and Surguja. "We have planned to open one dialysis centre in every district," he said.
Explaining about universal health care, Singh Deo said once a citizen pays taxes, they need not pay for health services. This is the basic mantra of this scheme. "We are trying to publicize the scheme."
