Government of Chhattisgarh has notified that those unorganised workers/ labourers affected by Silicosis disease as occupational hazard would be providing financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh.
Additional to it, those silicosis affected person and his family members would be covered under the different schemes. Under the Financial Assistance and Rehabilitation Scheme for those silicosis affected persons, financial and assistance including rehabilitation would be provided by Chhattisgarh Unorganised Workers Social Security Board. The labour department from secretariat had issued the notification.
As per the notification, the unorganised worker and their family members, if silicosis disease is confirmed, then they would be provided coverage under the schemes and would derive the benefit.
To derive the benefit, the silicosis disease has to be confirmed by any one of these mainly authorised doctor, Government Medical College or District Hospital posted Chest and TB specialist, Pt Jawaharlal Memorial Medical College, Raipur based Occupational Health and Safety Hazard Control Committee, Employees State Insurance Services, Insurance Medical Officer, Deputy Director or Assistant Director Medical, Industrial health and Security.
In case of death due to the diseases, then nearestkin can submit the application with Assistant labour Commissioner, labour Officers office. The application can be filed by the dependent parents, wife-husband, and minor son-daughter.
