Expressing concern over increasing sickle cell cases in Chhattisgarh, Health Minister T.S. Singh Deo on Monday called for opening sickle cell testing and counseling centers in each district headquarters by October 2.
Singh Deo was taking a meeting of the board of directors of sickle cell institutes at the Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College in Raipur.
He also called for training the staff of the sickle cell institutes and fill up the vacant positions of doctors through walk in interviews.
The Minister highlighted the rising sickle cell cases in tribal areas.
