In a bid to mount pressure on the State Government for merger of their services from Panchayat to School Education Department, Shikshakarmis across the state on Friday organised a ‘sit-in’ and a meet near Budha Talab here to discuss their strategy.

The Shikshakarmis during their meet came to a consensus that ‘Samvilyan Sankalpa Diwas’ will be observed on May 26 and to install ‘Samvilyan Pathargarhi’ in the villages across the state.

Talking to The Pioneer, State President of the Shikshakarmi Association, Virendra Dubey, informed that after not getting any clear response from the Government they are going to observe ‘Samvilyan Sankalpa Diwas’ on May 26.

“On this day, we the Shikshakarmis along with family members, friends and students would take a pledge for getting Samvilyan. We will also plant stone plaques on this occasion which would describe our demand of merger”, the Shikshakarmi leader said.

Notably, the Shikshakarmis all over the state were on indefinite strike in the state capital a couple of months ago and with the assurance of Government of formation of a high powered committee called off their strike unconditionally.

The high power committee sent study team to Rajasthan earlier and now have sent the team to study the process of ‘Samvilyan’ done in Madhya Pradesh.“Months have passed but no action has been taken in this regard and after losing our patience we have gathered today to discuss our strategy”, Dubey said .
