Shiksha Karmis on Thursday threatened to launch a State wide agitation if the authorities do not withdraw Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) cases against them and restore their pay the Government has been reducing after the Assembly Election.
State Shiksha Karmis association president Virendra Dubey said thousands of Shiksha Karmis had launched a State wide agitation for 36 days last year demanding a hike in their salaries. Although the demand was not fulfilled immediately, the Government started giving the demoralised Shiksha Karmis a salary hike between one thousands rupees and four thousand rupees during the electioneering.
The increased salary was given to them only from May to December, he said. Now as soon as the election was over, the Government issued a circular and started reducing their salary, he said. Dubey said such actions have been initiated against more than 1,200 Shiksha Karmis. He also alleged that the Government has not provided 18 per cent dearness allowance for the last one year.
A delegation of the association will soon meet Chief Minister Raman Singh in this matter. If the Government does not act, then we would be forced to launch State wide agitation, he said.
