A day-long workshop for Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Aanganbadi workers was organised under the aegis of Kharsia Municipal Council here.
Municipal Council president Kamal Garg presided over the meeting.
In the meeting, Garg discussed about the implementation of Government schemes like Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan, toilet construction, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Beti Bachhao Abhiyaan in the block.
He said, “To achieve the mission of clean India, it is important that each person should contribute in the cleanliness drive.”
Giving emphasis on the toilet construction in villages, Garg gave the slogan of ‘Green Kharsia’.
He entrusted the responsibility of keeping the town clean to the SHGs and Anganbadi workers and motivated them.
Garg said that each person should0 personally clean their houses and roads, monitor drainage system and if it gets overflowing, one should inform the Municipal employees so that they could clean it as soon as possible. Even a small contribution by each person would help in keeping the town clean and healthy, he said.
