Former State minister Satyanarayan Sharma reached Raipur Development Authority Wednesday afternoon along with affected families of Kamal Vihar Housing project and discussed the plight of farmers with RDA chairman Sunil Soni. Sharma expressed his anguish over the alleged commissioning of land acquisition by the authority without taking consent of the affected farmers. He even threatened not to let acquire one inch of land without the consent of the affected land owners.
Notably, while terming the RDA’s flagship housing project as transparent, Soni had earlier said to show the documents of the project to Sharma when he had objected to the procedures of the implementation of this project. To this the former minister along with affected farmers met Soni on Wednesday. He asked the RDA chairman if the authority had taken consent of the landowners concerned and expressed displeasure on the procedure adopted by
the Authority.Sharma alleged that instead of taking personal consent of all the affected persons, the RDA started land acquisition just after publishing advertisement in newspapers. He asked Soni if the RDA had set any date for giving consent by the affected person and if not then without their agreement their land should not be acquired or else the affected families should be given land for their land. He alleged that after acquiring land of farmers at the rate of Rs 90 per square foot, the Authority was selling it at the rate of Rs 1200 per square foot. The RDA chairman assured the former minister of taking action after considering the issue afresh.
